Rina Jans is my name. I reside in a town in the North of the Netherlands with my cat Tippy, Vladimir the Russian dwarf hamster and a gold fish family. I first came into contact with the Apple Macintosh at an Academy of Art. I immediately fell in love with the friendly machine. Since 1992, I've been working as a desktop publisher and graphic designer.
I've also worked at an Apple Dealer for three and a half years and as a VOIP and Windows helpdesk operator. In 2005 I took the AppleCare Technician Training at Apple.com.

In about 1998, my first Mac OS tutorial came online: a troubleshooting and internet guide for Mac OS 8 and 9. Three years later I wrote a tutorial for Mac OS X. I try to aim ad Mac - newbies and switchers. Since 2007 I also write books about the Mac (in Dutch). I make a modest living out of that.

Since I'm online, my nickname has been 'MacMiep'. "Mac" is obivous, but "Miep" comes from the Dutch pronounciation of "Meep Meep"- from the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote cartoons.
Translated into English this becomes "Macmeep" and there's the name of this website, together with "Macosxtutorial.com". The original website resides on http://www.macmiep.nl. Y.

Please not that this English translation of the original Macmiep.nl website is a work in progress.
Thank you Ruud Ravenhorst and your sister-in-law.

Greetz,
Rina Jans for Macmiep.nl

MacMiep dedicates this free online MacOS X tutorial to all those developers who write freeware and shareware for the Mac. I have no programming skills. Consider this website as my contribution to the Mac-community.
